Technip Energies has secured a contract from Shaanxi LNG Reserves & Logistics for the three million cubic meters per day Xi’An LNG Emergency Reserve & Peak Regulation project (Xi’An LNG) in China.
The contract is expected to generate revenue of between €50m and €250m for the French engineering company.
The contract covers the process design package (PDP), front-end engineering and design (FEED), and supply of key equipment for a 0.8 million tonne per annum (MTPA) LNG train.
Technical services for building, commissioning, startup, and performance testing are also included in the project.
The project will use the AP-SMR liquefaction technology, which is suited for mid-scale LNG and will be entirely electric motor-driven to minimise emissions.
It will be the largest liquefaction plant in the world to use a single electric motor-driven mixed refrigerant compressor, the company claimed.

The contract builds on Technip Energies’ partnership with Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group and Shaanxi Gas Group on the Yangling LNG project in 2012.
Earlier this year, ExxonMobil selected Technip Energies for FEED of Baytown, Texas-based low-carbon hydrogen, ammonia, and carbon capture unit.
