Norwegian firm Aker BP has awarded a ‘large’ contract to TechnipFMC to support the development of three fields at the Utsira High region in the North Sea.
Under the contract, TecnipFMC will tie back three fields, Symra, Solveig Phase 2, and Troldhaugen, to the existing Edvard Grieg and Ivar Aasen production platforms.
Solveig Phase 2 and Troldhaugen will be tied back to the Edvard Grieg platform. The Symra field will be tied back to the Ivar Aasen platform for a partial processing prior to the final processing at the Edvard Grieg platform.
TecnipFMC will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of subsea production systems, controls, pipelines, and umbilicals.
Aker BP Edvard Grieg and Ivar Aasen projects execution vice-president Stine Kongshaug McIntosh said: “The team from TecnipFMC has, for the past two years, been conducting the FEED phase for the Symra, Solveig phase 2 and Troldhaugen projects.”
During the execution phase, the Symra, Solveig phase 2, and Troldhaugen developments are planned to be combined into a single, joint project, dubbed the Utsira High project.
