IT jobs accounted for a 4.73% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering an increase of 0.39% over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 53.33% in November 2022, a 146.15% rise over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 18.33% in November 2022, marking a 22.22% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 16.67% in November 2022, a 16.67% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 119.05% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s oil & gas industry during November 2022 over previous month.
Saudi Arabian Oil posted 20 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered an increase of 233.33% over the previous month, followed by Saudi Kayan Petrochemical with 15 jobs and a 650% growth. Sasol with 4 IT jobs and Worley with 4 jobs, recorded a 50% drop and a 20% drop, respectively, while Fugro recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s oil & gas industry
Saudi Arabia commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 63.33% share in November 2022, a 153.33% increase over October 2022. South Africa featured next with a 16.67% share, flat growth over the previous month. Qatar recorded a 5% share, a drop of 40% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.33%, up by 10.34% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 38.33% share, registered a growth of 35.29% compared with the previous month.
