November 2022 has seen a decrease of 11.51% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.
IT jobs accounted for an 8.2% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.57% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 44.52% in November 2022, a 66.83% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 25.81% in November 2022, marking a 24.53% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.19% in November 2022, a 30.16% drop from October 2022.

Top five oil & gas companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 6.16% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry during November 2022 over previous month.
PI Industries posted 57 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 13.64% over the previous month, followed by Fugro with 31 jobs and a flat growth. Yara International with 27 IT jobs and Baker Hughes with 26 jobs, recorded a 3.85% rise and a 42.22% drop, respectively, while BASF recorded a 55.56% increase with 14 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 57.1% share in November 2022, a 66.6% decrease over October 2022. China featured next with an 8.71% share, up 50% over the previous month. Thailand recorded an 8.06% share, a growth of 13.64% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.84%, down by 41.23% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.45% share, registered a decline of 60% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.74% share, down 78.76% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.97%, recording a month-on-month growth of 50%.
