GlobalData’s latest report, ‘Global Refinery Condensate Splitter Outlook to 2026 – Capacity and Capital Expenditure Outlook with Details of All Operating and Planned Condensate Splitter Units’, says that the Asia refinery condensate splitter unit capacity increased from 1,488 thousand barrels of oil per day (mbd) in 2016 to 1,569mbd in 2021 at an Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR) of 1.1%. It is expected to increase from 1,569mbd in 2021 to 1,719mbd in 2026, at an AAGR of 1.8%.
South Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia are the key countries in Asia that accounted for 86% of the total condensate splitter unit capacity in 2021.
South Korea had the highest refinery condensate splitter unit capacity in 2021, with 545mbd. Other key countries in terms of refinery condensate splitter unit capacity were China, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia with 346mbd, 197mbd, 160mbd and 100mbd, respectively. South Korea witnessed the highest capacity growth during 2016 to 2021, with an AAGR of 2.7%, among the countries, followed by China with 1.2%.
In Asia, 11 countries had active refineries, with a total refinery condensate splitter unit capacity of 1,569mbd in 2021. Daesan II, Daesan I, Rayong II, Zhangzhou and Incheon were some of the largest active refineries in terms of condensate splitter unit capacity in 2021.
