The midstream segment contracts in Africa registered an increase of 20% with 12 contracts in Q1 2022, when compared with the previous quarter’s total of 10 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
A total of 12 contracts were registered in the midstream segment of Africa during the quarter, when compared with the last four-quarter moving average of 14 contracts.
In terms of the number of contracts in Africa, the upstream segment contributed the most with 43 contracts in Q1 2022, followed by midstream and downstream segments with 12 and two contracts, respectively.

Looking at the total oil and gas contracts by country in the midstream segment of Africa, Algeria and Mozambique led the activity in Q1 2022 with two contracts and a 17% share each, followed by South Africa with one contract and an 8% share, followed by South Africa with one contract and an 8% share.
