A total of 12 contracts were registered in the downstream segment of Middle East during the quarter, when compared with the last four-quarter moving average of 16 contracts.
In terms of the number of contracts in Middle East, the upstream segment contributed the most with 75 contracts in Q1 2022, followed by midstream and downstream segments with 16 and 12 contracts, respectively.

Looking at the total oil and gas contracts by country in the downstream segment of Middle East, Iraq led the activity in Q1 2022 with four contracts and a 33% share. It saw an increase of 300% over the previous quarter’s total of one contract and an increase of 300% when compared with the last four-quarter-average of one contract in Iraq, followed by Kuwait and Qatar with one contract 8% share each.
