The West African Gas (WAGP) project started operations in 2008 and is owned by Chevron, Nigerian National Petroleum, Shell, Takoradi Power, Societe Beninoise de Gaz, and Societe Togolaise de Gaz.
The West African Gas (WAGP) project is associated with the 446km Escravos–Lagos (NGC).

The West African Gas Pipeline Co Ltd (WAPCo) is an oil and gas company that owns and operates the West African gas pipeline. The company is engaged in transportation of natural gas of heavy hydrocarbons, liquids and water as fuel. WAPCo transports natural gas from Nigeria to customers in Benin, Togo and Ghana for power plants and industrial applications.
