The patent application (Publication Number: US20230392249A1) describes an alloy material designed for use in electrochemical devices. The alloy material consists of a Fe—Cr based substrate with a layer containing Co, where a Co-containing region is formed within the substrate facing the interface with the layer. Additionally, the layer may include a first layer of metal oxide containing Cr and a second layer of metal oxide containing Co, with the possibility of Mn being present in the second layer.

Furthermore, the Fe—Cr based alloy substrate may contain Mn, Cu, and Cr within specific mass percentages, along with the option of including Ti and Zr within defined mass percentages. The patent also covers the use of this alloy material in various components of electrochemical devices, such as electrodes, electrolytes, counter electrodes, separators, manifolds, interconnectors, and current collectors. Additionally, the patent extends to the application of the alloy material in electrochemical modules, devices incorporating reformers and inverters, solid oxide fuel cells, and energy systems with waste heat management units for efficient heat reuse from the electrochemical devices.
